The Problem:
Due to the new development in economic conditions and the enormous tax patterns currently in Ghana, an import tax of 20% and a value-added tax of 12.5% has been placed on disposable sanitary pads and products in our country. This has resulted in the prices of sanitary pads shooting up massively creating a huge impact on affordability and accessibility of the product . According to reports, averagely, 2 out of 10 girls in the country cannot afford to purchase sanitary pads for use monthly
