The building I reside in is Antioch Haven Homes is falling apart, I live right across the hall to an apartment that’s been empty for about 3 years. It’s mold in the whole apartment, even on the walls. When it the rain outside real bad because of the city, and not being the drain from outside bigger it flooding that apartment, and mines it floods mines as well. My neighbors as well as myself have issues with things in our apartments, and other apartment complexes are going through the same issue. But the apartment above us is getting fixed on, but ours is not, and that is not acceptable. It’s plenty of times where we are communicating with the landlord, and things still are not getting done, but he wants us to pay him rent. So I would like everyone who’s going through this dilemma to start speaking up. Because if we stick together as one unit we will get things done, and because we are living in a low income environment that doesn’t make us have to live like it. I just wanna make it a better living environment for myself as well as my children because they are the ones that’s suffering, and being exposed to an unhealthy environment. Also there is no upkeep and maintenance being done they pick and choose where, and what buildings they wanna work at that’s not right either. Smoke alarms are old and outdated rain gutters have never been cleaned causing side of building to have excess water surrounding building and bringing bugs, there are Cod webs from where around the doors haven’t been cleaned, and back of the building haven’t been cleaned since I been living there. It’s also real big water bugs coming into our apartments as well because of the excess water. The balcony floors and coming apart. When you come into the building around the baseboards it’s old and coming apart, and there is a big whole in the front the building where it is being covered with a board over it, and from that whole being there the floor is coming up if you walk on it’s finna cave in.
