Problem:
The last public Tamiami hockey rink is going to be torn down for a different court that has numerous locations already in the area. 

Benefits of Tamiami’s Hockey Rink:
Many different people of all ages, backgrounds, and creeds meet up at this outdoor rink to play hockey and practice skating among other activities. It is an opportunity for many people to exercise and meet new people in a setting that isn’t as abundant given the requirements for skating.

Many kids have learned hockey at this rink and continue to train here, it is a way to keep the youth engaged in physical activity off the streets. 

Access:
Please keep in mind, there are so few hockey rinks in Miami, there is not a simple replacement for the many people who go here. Destroying this rink is stripping away the opportunity from so many different people.

Solution:
Please keep our hockey rink alive and maybe even consider renovations to make it better. Lights, court renovations, and a scoreboard would all enhance the area and make it even more attractive to others.
