Holyoke Skatepark is a popular place for people of all ages who enjoy skateboarding, BMX, scootering, roller skating and more!

Unfortunately for everyone, the park has fallen into disrepair. There are dangerous cracks and holes that have occasionally led to people getting hurt, sometimes chunks of concrete break free and create further hazards.

The park has very little shade, no benches or places to sit and rest and only 2 garbage bins (which are perpetually full and overflowing).

I propose that the following be done to rectify these issues and make the park a safer and more enjoyable place for everyone:

1. Repair any damaged concrete.
2. Add some source of shade (plant trees or add a canopy that will not interfere with use of the park).
3. Add a place for people to sit and rest.
4. Additional garbage / recycling bins.

If possible, addition of the following:

1. Drinking water fountain.
2. Mist cooling station (an example being those at mistcooling.com) 

This is not a lot to ask. There are so many people who enjoy using this park on a daily basis that would benefit from these improvements. There are benches and garbage bins sitting unused all over the city that would be easy to move, and some shade trees could be planted in an afternoon.
